Wedding inspiration to win
Brides love decoration. Brides love inspiration. And being a wedding photographer you shouldn’t ignore it. So I had a look in three latest Wedding Books and would like to tell you about them. The couples, which make an appointment with me will also have a possibility to have a look inside and get inspired for their weddings. I will put these books in my showroom.
It was not easy to find these books. The main problem is that there are too many old wedding books on the market. But even in the topic of “decoration”, it has changed so much in the last few years, that the books on this topic should better be up to date.
Lets start with the first book: the knot ultimate wedding lookbook (ISBN 978-0-307-46290-9).
“To get married all you ready need are a few rings, a dress and an appointment at the City Hall.” That is how the book begins. I would say, that the first sentence is more about a couple that just ran away. However the book is oriented on a different clientele. You will find more then 1000 illustrations, all nicely photographed, sorted by color and style. Examples of flower decorations are very american opulent, as well as the Do’s and Don’ts. But also a west-european person will benefit from this book. Every topic is covered: from invitations to the dress, from the suit to the wedding cake. In any case, this books is very inspiring – especially for the couples, that have no idea yet, how their wedding should look like. They will be shown a big variety of possibilities, what fits perfectly together in therms of color and style. The illustrations are mostly made on-site by amazing wedding photographers.
The second book is a challenge for a bride, it’s all about “self-made”: Handmade Weddings (ISBN 978-0-8118-7450-2).
You can buy a lot of things, but the self-made items are usually the most precious. Crafting makes a lot of fun and if you have time for that, you can produce things, that are not possible to buy anywhere. That is the main theme of the “Handmade weddings” book. But it doesn’t tell you to make a wedding cake yourself and save money in this way. It is more concentrated on the design of invitations, place cards, table decoration and guest presents. You will get help on every detail, for example for an invitation you will find the information about fonts, sources of inspiration, colors, the difficulty, time you will need for that, materials, tools, timeline and many other. There is also a good variety of different styles. Of course, the examples in the book always look perfect, so if you are a less fortuned craft-maker, you may come to your boundary at some point. This book has surprised me at most: it is very nicely done and you can (if you like handmade) use it for many things to prepare your wedding.
And now the book number three: Wedding Inspirations (ISBN 978-1-84597-922-5)
